Description

Mangave ‘Bad Hair Day’

I wish my bad hair days, looked this good! This plant produces narrow, flat lime green leaves that form a long drooping growth pattern. Leaves have light  red spotting distinct blush coloring towards the tips of the leaves . The leaves are soft and flexible. Mangave ‘Bad Hair Day’ looks amazing in decorative containers, especially face planters. Our hardiest Mangave to date. One of our favorites!

Mangave is a  new  cross of Manfreda x Agave. These rare hybrids combine the best of both worlds. The better growth rate and the interesting patterns come from Manfreda. The the refined look comes from the strength of  the Agave.

Mangave is a tender perennial or “temperennial” succulent plant that grows best in full sun. Plant in well-drained, dry to average soil in containers just slightly wider than the width of the rosette or plant directly in the ground. In summer when the plants are actively growing, they appreciate a bit of supplemental watering and half-strength fertilizer. They should be grown dry in winter. Mangave is a slower grower, so it will not quickly overtake the space it is allotted in the landscape.
