About

Hello my name is Sherri (obviously, lol), and I live in Zone 9b Florida. It is my intention to bring you along on my gardening journey, offering insight to things that work and do not work and pure inspiration to get out there and make your dreams come true.

My mother had an eye for landscaping and my father had a love for Orchids. I am originally from South Florida but Followed my husband to Ohio. The long dark cruel winters of the north made desperate for greenery so I started with potted plants , before I knew it I had an indoor jungle. When my children had friends over I would always hear ,” wow, you live in a jungle!” I also liked to explore vegetable gardening with my children as they grew. I liked to plant corn, sunflowers, cucumbers, tomato’s, and melons with them and grandchildren, too.

From there I lined my driveway with over 100 roses and got the local garden clubs attention. In later years in Ohio I started planting bananas, strawberries and tomato’s in my front yard (because we had a small yard). People really thought I had lost my mind. I also had window boxes and hanging baskets adorned with beautiful flowers.

I now is with a heavy interest in growing perennial easy care fruit trees and vegetables for beauty and production. My interests also lie with permaculture and sustainability. I do like me some beautiful flowers, too. I am older than most that start the journey into sustainable lifestyle, however there is a undeniable sense of self when interacting with nature. My children have grown and moved off. When I plant a tree it gives me hope to see its bounty or growth, it gives me purpose
